I am looking for ideas for content that YOU want to see/read. Always wondered about something regarding website design, social media, marketing ? Please drop me a comment or suggestion, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.
It’s Your Turn…
I have been working on a new website. I think it will be a better experience for my followers and I will be gradually updating the new website and likely phasing this (aboutwebsitedesign) one out.
Please have a visit to my new site and subscribe to www.ericrowen.ca
What are your thoughts on the new site ? Like it ? Hate it ?
Thanks in Advance,
I chose today for my “official” business launch day. No parties, no fanfare, no ribbon cutting just me sitting at my desk working as usual. But by setting a “launch date” it gave me motivation to get things done on my tasks list.
Got my twitter page set up @ericrowen6 and facebook fan page done http://www.facebook/silver6.ca
Working on another personal project as well – setting up another website for myself (not silver6.ca)
The website will eventually replace this one. It will be a place to post tutorials, tips, etc.
Feel free to post comments/follow me.
For those of you that follow me on a semi regular basis you know that I enjoy pretty much all things web related. For years I have enjoyed website design but it was more as a side line activity, and – I had a totally unrelated day job.
In the last few years I have really been doing some serious self evaluating. Without getting into a lot of detail I pretty much decided that life is too short to continue doing something that you hate. So I took a huge leap a few weeks back and have jumped in with both feet into running my own business. At this point I think I have about equal parts panic and joy. I am really looking forward to the next few months/years.
I have named my new business Silver 6 Media. Here is my new website http://www.silver6.ca
I am still doing some minor tweeks to the site but please have a look and of course any comments are always welcome.
I recently came across a little program called ImageOptim. It reduces images for speedier downloads.
I have used it a few times. It seems to vary how much file size you save, but I am averaging between 5 – 20 % file shrinkage. It is a small and simple program…give it a try its free. Search Google for it.
Let me know what you think of it. How much shrinkage are you getting ??
